Ceramics Ireland International Festival, Thomastown, Co. Kilkenny.
17 September 2012
On Saturday September 8th, at the invitation of Ceramics Ireland, the Tatiko documentary was shown to a packed audience of potters at the Ceramics Ireland International Festival in Grellan Mill, Thomastown, Co.Kilkenny. It was followed by a short 5 minute video of amazing “hammer and anvil” pottery-making in Northern Nigeria, filmed by Doig Simonds, who spent decades in Nigeria. These films provided a really stimulating contrast to the documentary of the Ireland-China Ceramic residency in Fuping last year, made by Andrew Standen-Raz and Eleanor Flegg, which was shown earlier in the day.
