Earthenware

Why buy Irish handmade craft pottery?

Because it is not standardised, not the product of mechanised factory lines or imported sweat-shop labour. Because it has energy, life and a unique beauty that comes from the individual potter’s vision.

All this blue-and-white tableware is genuinely hand-made from start to finish by me, using high-temperature earthenware clay.  While decorative motifs may be repeated through a set, each piece is individually made and hand-painted. The decoration is applied to the leadless white tin glaze before firing, using “in-glaze” oxides with brushes, so that the pots are suitable for food and cooking,  besides being dishwasher and oven–proof. Each piece is signed “Anto” and dated.

A new spin on the old tradition of Irish Delftware.
